Join us for a Webinar on February 25
The U.N.’s first Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the U.S., scheduled to take place December 2010, offers an important opportunity both to measure how the U.S. is meeting its human rights obligations and to continue pressuring the government to live up to those obligations. The United States has obligations to ensure racial equality and equity under the International Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD).  In November of 2010 the United Nations Human Rights Council will review the Unites States’ human rights record and will look closely at the implementation of the concluding observations given to the U.S. by  the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination in 2008 .  Racial Justice advocates, community organizations, scholars, and individuals have the opportunity to provide written testimony for the upcoming Universal Periodic Review and we hope you will make a difference.  The NARJHR will be coordinating submissions along with one hundreds of other human rights organizations.   To learn more join us for a webinarand hear how to become involved and how to use this process to advance racial justice in your community.
